Had a productive weekend!

This GBC got its capacitors and speakers replaced, and a brand new shell, along with the star of the show: an OLED screen!

With that, I also assembled a Game Boy Camera+. Thanks again to @ZephyrArcturus for 3D printing me the case!

Like OLED the screen looks so good it’s ridiculous. On this picture it looks like a flat emage. The display is so incredibly sharp and the colors are super vivid.

Fuck an Analogue Pocket, this + an Everdrive beats it

@Retidurc @ZephyrArcturus I really recommend the OLED screen mod, really worth it. You need a shell fitted for it, and there’s a single wire to solder to the motherboard, otherwise it’s like, super easy to install and the result is gorgeous.

@Siph I looooooove OLED screens on the GBCs, it really elevates the experience!

What OLED screen did you end up using? a drop in one or one you have to solder? I haven't modded a GBC in years so I'm kind of out of the loop on stuff lol

AFAIK it’s the only existing OLED kit! All the other ones are IPS. An OLED screen for a GBC is a dream come true.

It’s sorta drop-in, you need to use a FunnyPlaying case originally made for another IPS screen kit, and you also need to solder a tiny wire to one of the pins on the power switch, but otherwise it was a really easy install.
